Park Activities

Park Safari by vehicle
The vehicle safari continues to be an extremely popular activity. It allows the guests to explore the park in an open safari vehicle. Visitors can enjoy bird watching and the thrill of tracking tigers as well as the sounds of the jungle. A fixed number of vehicles, with a maximum of 6 guests per vehicle (excluding driver & guide) are allowed into the park for morning & evening excursions. Since this is an extremely popular activity, we recommend guests plan for their safari holidays well in advance to have options to explore the various tourism zones in the park.

Walking Safaris
The walking safaris are conducted in the buffer zone of the park. The nature trail runs alongside the Banjar River, forming a natural boundary with the core areas of the Kanha Tiger Reserve. Accompanied by a designate walking safari guide and naturalist, guests have the option to experience the thrill of walking through dense Sal patches and rocky outcrops. Walking is an excellent way to get close to nature and enjoy the beauty of the smaller creatures, wildflowers and aromatic wild herbs. Often deer, Gaur or monkeys can be spotted quenching their thirst in the river. Walking Safaris are open year-round. Walking trail tickets for guests can be organized by the lodge.

Elephant Bath Viewing
Each afternoon the elephants are brought down to the river to be given a bath. The Park allows a fixed number of vehicles at the designate area where guests can delight in watching the elephants bathe and frolic in the river. This activity is subject to availability and depends on weather. The tickets are available at the park gate and can be booked by the lodge.
